A selection of tunes composed for the Transatlantic Connections Fleadh Cheoil 2015 tribute concert to commemorate 100 years since James Morrison emigrated from Sligo. The first tune is dedicated to one of Morrison’s former students, NJ-resident Veronica McNamara, whom I had the pleasure of interviewing during the making of The Sligo Masters documentary. The reel which follows references Morrison’s esteemed reputation as a music teacher while the selection concludes with a tune named after Morrison’s uncle, famed dance-master Charlie Dolan.
